Ca(s)t a spell on your screen with the latest Google Doodle game

Every special occasion, we look forward to what the Google Doodle team will come up with to celebrate whatever it is we’re celebrating. They have also evolved from just simple doodles to more interactive games. For this year’s Halloween doodle, the developers did not disappoint us as they are turning us into spellcatters, we mean spell casters, in order to save the Magic Cat Academy from haunted beings. Cats + Halloween + a simple but addictive game seems like a match made in heaven.

Momo, a cute cat from the Magic Cat Academy (based on a real-life cat from one of the doodlers), needs your help as hundreds of angry ghosts have invaded their beloved school (“fur real,” it emphasized). Since he is still just a student, you would have to help him out to defeat the angry beings that are trying to take over the school. All you need to do is swipe on your screens so the ghosts will disappear. But it’s not just any swiping action though. You need to draw the symbols that appear on the heads of the ghost in order to banish them.

At first, the symbols are simple enough: a straight horizontal or vertical line, a triangle, a heart, etc. But pretty soon, it’s not just one symbol on top of their head but a long line and you have to draw all of them. The good news is that you can draw on any part of the screen, not just the top of their heads. The game has five levels set in different parts of the academy: the library, cafeteria, classroom, gym, and the rooftop.

If you feel like showing off, you can post your score to your social networks. You can play the doodle on the Google search page on your mobile device’s Chrome browser and on your desktop as well.
