Fantastic Beasts: Cases lets you solve mysteries for the Ministry of Magic

The Harry Potter fandom is in a frenzy once again as the new movie Fantatsic Beasts and Where To Find Them, a sort-of prequel to the whole world of wizards that we know and love, is set to open this weekend. And of course, along with this kind of movie comes various merchandise and tie-in products, both physical and digital. Warner Bros. has released a mobile game “inspired by J.K Rowling’s Wizarding World” called Fantastic Beasts, and if you like hidden objects games and solving mysteries, then this one might be for you.

Basically, you will be joining the Ministry of Magic and investigating some unexplained happenings that they suspect are caused by magical creatures. As you unravel these mysteries, you will be able to rise from the level of just a recruit to the top Magizoologist. You will discover hidden clues, interview witnesses, analyze evidence, and of course since you’re a wizard after all, you will also cast spells. But you better make sure the muggles (or no-majs) can’t see it to uphold the Statue of Secrecy.

While basically this is a hidden objects type of game, it still doesn’t scrimp on the graphics, the music, and the whole magical atmosphere. You get to visit familiar Harry Potter-related places like the Leaky Cauldron and Diagon Alley while exploring the “beautifully illustrated enchanted environments”. You can also join the online magical community and help each other solve mysteries or be more competitive and see how you stack up against other players as well.

You can download Fantastic Beasts: Cases from the Google Play Store for free. Of course there are a in-app purchases available, don’t be surprised. If you’re willing to spend a little money to advance your magizoologist career, why not?
