LG V20 sells 200,000 units in the US in its first 10 days

LG’s newest smartphone, the V20, has the distinction of being the first non-Google phone that will have the Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. This was one of the selling points they were harping on when they first announced it was going to be released in the US this November. And that may have been one of the factors that contributed to 200,000 units being sold in its first 10 days in the market, double that of its predecessor, the LG V10, in the same period of time last year.

This is a pretty big deal for the Korean OEM, which has seen its sales spike in its native South Korea, probably after the whole Galaxy Note 7 debacle. So this is probably the time for them to go full steam ahead with marketing the LG V20, not just for having Nougat, but also for its multimedia features. It supposedly resonated with young Americans who like taking high-quality videos with their mobile devices and then sharing them on social networks.

To give you a review of the specs of the smartphone, it has a 5.7-inch Quad HD display and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. It has 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage, with up to 2TB expanded via microSD. It has a 3200mAh battery and a fingerprint scanner. Camera-wise, it has dual main camera (16MP and 8MP) plus a front-facing 5MP camera. It’s also the first smartphone to have a 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad digital to analog Converter (DAC).

The LG V20 was released in South Korea last September but made its US debut late October. It’s available in most major carries like Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T and pricing varies from around $672-830 dollars.
