As the ad industry continues its fight against malware, the Trustworthy Accountability Group launches a threat-sharing hub to provide intelligence on attacks.
The Trustworthy Accountability Group (TAG) has launched the TAG “Certified Against Malware” Program as part of its broader effort to eliminate fraudulent traffic, combat Internet piracy, fight malware, and encourage transparency in the digital advertising supply chain.
This initiative, which is TAG’s fourth and final seal program, will certify buyers, sellers, and intermediaries combating malware in the digital advertising space.
To receive a TAG “Certified Against Malware” seal, companies are required to comply with specific guidelines related to their positions in the digital advertising supply chain. Some of these steps include documenting malware-scanning responsibilities, establishing a procedure for defining Red Flag events, and designating an anti-malware contact.
TAG has also launched a Malware Threat Sharing Hub, which enables select companies to share real-time data on malware attacks through a central resource. Participating businesses can use the data to protect against new infections; TAG will also share data from the hub with law enforcement agencies to help capture cybercriminals.
