We haven’t heard anything about OPPO recently but the Chinese OEM has been busy preparing for the R9S. The smartphone has been sighted on TENAA a couple of months ago. Looks like the device is really coming soon as marketing leaflets were sighted in China. The material shows off the Oppo R9S equipped with a 3010mAh battery.
The R9S is a higher-specced version of the OPPO R9 flagship phone unveiled in China back in March. Just like the previous model, this one also boasts of Super VOOC charging so you can quickly charge the battery within a few minutes. No need to wait for hours before battery can be fully charged.
On the TENAA website, listed were the following specs: 5.5-inch screen, 1080 pixel resolution, 13MP and 16MP camera combo, OPPO SmartSensor, and a Snapdragon 625 processor. The SmartSensor is for smartphone’s image stabilization technology. This also means just like the Oppo R9 and R9 Plus, the R9S will be imaging-centric.
Hitting TENAA means the device is about to be released in China. Still no word on pricing and availability but the OPPO R9S should be announced anytime soon. We’ll let you know once Oppo takes the cover off the new Android phone.
