Xiaomi Redmi 4 sighted again on TENAA, launch waiting to happen

The Redmi 4 was leaked on Geekbench and Weibo a few months ago. Another set of images was leaked again and then a phone was certified on TENAA. It’s been over a month and nothing yet from Xiaomi. Well, the Chinese OEM actually announced a few products recently such as the Mi Mix concept phone, Mi Note 2, and the Mi VR but the Redmi 4 is still nowhere to be found.

We’re guessing it’s coming really soon as another TENAA sighting has happened. Published were renders of a mystery smartphone that we’re expecting could be the Redmi 4.

So far, we heard the Redmi 4 will be very similar to the Redmi Note 4 but with souped-down specs and a less premium feel. Specs include a 5-inch display screen, Full HD 1080p display, Snapdragon 625 processor or 1.8 GHz MediaTek Helio P10 chipset, 32GB onboard storage, 8MP selfie cam, 13MP rear camera, and a 4000mAh battery. We’re assuming it will have a fingerprint scanner and IR blaster.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow will run on the Xiaomi Redmi 4. We’re not expecting a future Nougat update because the specs are not as impressive. For the price of $105 (699 Yuan), it really is an affordable smartphone. The 4000mAh battery is good news already at such price point so let’s just wait and see.
