ZTE Cymbal-T flip phone announced with 4G LTE already

Flip phones are not a thing of the past. Well, they may remind you of your childhood and maybe high school or college for some, being your first really “cool” phone, but it’s really an unusual form for a smartphone. There are only a few Android-powered clamshells compared to the brick form but we know there is still a demand. We’re not just sure how many percent of the mobile industry buy such.

We’re anticipating new ones including the Veyron, Samsung Galaxy Folder 2, and LG Wine Smart Jazz. Sharp is also part of the clamshell game with the Aquos and Arrows flip phones.

ZTE is venturing into the arena by introducing Cymbal-T. It’s a new flip phone that is powered by Android. It comes equipped with a 3.5-inch screen, numerical dial pad, navi keys, 1.1GHz quad-core Snapdragon 210 chipset, 1GB RAM, 8GB onboard storage, memory card slot, 5MP main camera (with autofocus and flash), 2MP front-facing camera, and the standard WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, and 4G LTE connectivity. There’s no mention of battery size though.

The ZTE Cymbal-T smartphone can be used on TracFone network. You can get one from the Home Shopping Network. For only $99, the starter kit already includes a phone case, charger, and 1200 air minutes. It may not be as powerful but for that price, it’s good enough to be a secondary phone or a spare unit for your child to use.
